Together we can make a difference.
The Gordy Ross Helping Hands Foundation was Founded by Wanda G. Ross in the Spring of 2022.
Wanda was inspired through the loss of her eldest son Stephen A. Ross Jr., in 1999 and the loss of her mother, Mrs. Bessie Gordy in 2021.
Stephen was a bright, ambitious 20-year-old college student with academic ambitions and a heart for mentoring the youth. Bessie was a pillar in her community with many attributes, one being her gift of sewing which she used to teach in various senior centers. Wanda was inspired to continue their legacy of outreach, impact and change in individuals, families and communities.
The Gordy Ross Helping Hands Foundation is dedicated to making a positive change through an organized action that is centered around the principles of intent, influence, and impact within higher education and vocational training. Our mission is to empower individuals, families and communities by providing resources through grants and scholarships piece by piece. Our foundation is committed to the belief that education is one of the most powerful tools for creating positive change in the world. By providing access to higher education and vocational training, we believe that we can help people achieve their full potential, break the cycle of poverty, and create stronger, more resilient communities.
We understand that the cost of education can be a barrier for many individuals and families. That’s why we are committed to providing scholarships and grants to deserving students who might not otherwise have the financial means to pursue their dreams.
We believe that with clear intentions, we can influence the world in a positive way and create lasting impact. Through our resources, we hope to inspire a new generation of leaders who will also make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in our foundation. We invite you to join us in our mission to create a brighter future through education and empowerment.
